[REVIEW] Miniso Hyaluronic Acid Essence Toner

Hello, I'm back!

This time I want to review a product from Miniso. Maybe you already know that Miniso is a Japanese lifestyle and fast fashion brand that sells merchandise such as homeware, bags and electronics at low prices. Basically similar with Daiso. But some goods are more expensive compared to Daiso.

Last month I had a business trip to Malaysia with my colleague. We visited a Miniso store near our hotel because she wanted to buy a neck pillow. I didn't intend to buy anything, I only wanted to accompany her at first. Then I saw they have fancy cosmetics line with nice packaging. The blush, eyeshadow, and lipstick are very pigmented. They even have BB cushion and dupes of Real Techniques brush! I really wanted to buy ALL! But I knew my limit and I had to keep my wallet safe (lol) πŸ˜‚ So I ended up buying this essence toner and a USB cable.

Enough with the introduction, let's move to the review.

PRODUCT FEATURES:
Enriched with Hyaluronic acid. Provide intense nutrition and moisture for skin. Formula with Hamamelis virginiana essence. To minimize pores and revitalize skin. Leaves skin smooth, refreshed, moisturized and tender.

PACKAGING:

It has nice, slim but not cheap looking packaging. The bottle is made of plastic. So need to need to worry if you accidentally drop it on the floor, it won't crack πŸ˜‚ Ingredients and other information are printed on the back of the bottle.

INGREDIENTS:

Aqua, Butylene glycol, Dipropylene glycol, Hamamelis virginiana extract, Centella asiatica extract, Scutellaria baicalensis root extract, Polygonum cuspidatum root extract, Ruscus aculeatus root extract, Glycyrrhiza glabra root extract, Camellia sinensis leaf extract, Chamomilla recutita flower extract, Rosmarinus officinalis leaf extract, Calendula officinalis flower extract, PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium hyaluronate, Xanthan gum, Sodium PCA, Carbomer, Ammonium glycyrrhizate, Hydrolyzed yeast protein, Sodium citrate, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Methylparaben, Ethylhexylglycerine, Aroma
Wow, so many extracts. Let's find out if the extracts really work wonder or only gimmicky.

HOW TO USE:
You can apply it directly on your face, like Hada Labo lotion. But I prefer to combine it with my compressed mask, to make DIY sheet mask.

TEXTURE:

Liquidy. A little bit thicker than water.

HOW IT FEELS:
It's really lightweight, not greasy at all. If you ever tried Secret Key STE, this essence toner is almost similar to that. I always use it with my compressed mask at night. I feel my face very hydrated and slightly (only slightly) brighter in the next morning. Though it's not as hydrating as real sheet mask and it doesn't make my skin more supple. But it's enough for me since I only want the soothing sensation of putting sheet mask onto my face.

PROS:
It's dirt cheap! Only costs RM 15 and you got 200ml hydrating toner. It's even cheaper than Hada Labo Gokyujun Lotion (around IDR 35k for 100ml). And it doesn't break me out which is a PLUS point. Since I have sensitive skin, even changing facial wash can make me break out.

CONS:
What really turns me off is its scent! It smells like detergent! It's like putting Rinso all over your face. Yuck! It really bothered me at first time I tried it. But seems I'm getting used to it now πŸ˜…
Actually I'm not sure if I can buy it again. Since it's not available in Indonesia. Eventhough we have Miniso stores in Jakarta, but they don't bring their cosmetic line here #whyohwhy πŸ˜”
And if you don't like paraben products, sorry this essence toner still contains Methylparaben.

VERDICT:
After a week using only this essence toner at night, my face became hydrated but I didn't feel any other effects beside it. This is a good product if you only need a hydrating toner for your face. But if you look for other benefits like whitening or improving your wrinkles, sure you need to combine it other products.

RATING: 3.5 / 5

REPURCHASE: Maybe
